Huddersfield branch of UK Shootboxing. Shootboxing as a Japanese combat sport is a fusion of Japanese Kickboxing/Thai boxing and is fused with Shoot Wrestling techniques. Shootboxing combines striking, takedowns, and standing submissions into one complete combat sport. Fighters can use punches, elbows, kicks, and knees to the head, body, and legs, along with takedowns, trips, sweeps, throws, slams, standing chokes, and standing arm and shoulder locks. Students are encouraged to test themselves each year at the ‘Fist of the Midlands’ UK Shootboxing Championships as well as multiple MMA interclubs throughout the year.
